Bartlett mayor's deliquent taxes and resignation — November 2011
Bartlett Village President Michael Kelly resigned abruptly in November 2011, shortly after acknowledging he was late in paying property taxes on his home and law office for three consecutive years.
In the days that followed, there was immense public outcry and tense exchanges between village board members.
Editor John Lampinen says the paper had an obligation to write about former Bartlett mayor Michael Kelly's tax problems.

On Oct. 31, 2012, I was the sole city staff writer working the early morning shift. When we received tips about a murder in Naperville I was the first person to start piecing the story together.
